Sinopse
Em 2004, graças ao bem sucedido Far Cry, a alemã Crytek deixou de ser uma desconhecida produtora para figurar no seleto rol das mais conhecidas e respeitadas, a ponto de chamar a atenção da Electronic Arts, que contratou a companhia para produzir uma nova franquia. Trata-se de Crysis, um jogo de ação em primeira pessoa, que novamente traz combates em florestas, com paisagens de tirar o fôlego. O enredo, com elementos de ficção científica, toma como base uma invasão alienígena e, de acordo, a Crytek, nada tem a ver com Far Cry. Aliás, Crysis é o segundo título da produtora, mas já marca algumas de suas principais características: a coragem de apostar em franquias inéditas e a competência com mecanismos gráficos. Esta última pode ser notada nos efeitos avançados de sombra, luz e texturas, que abrangem high dynamic range lighting, per-pixel shading e todos os termos técnicos imaginados. Em Crysis, até as folhagens são passíveis de serem destruídas, o que pode parecer pouco, mas num game onde a vegetação serve de camuflagem, como é o caso aqui, tal recurso é um tanto quanto útil. Em outras palavras, ao analisar o território, você pode tentar descobrir onde se escondo o inimigo - e vice-versa - destruindo a paisagem a sua volta. O jogo traz ainda modalidades multiplayer tradicionais, como deathmatch (inclusive por equipes) e capture-the-flag. Além disso, ao que parece, a Crytek trabalha em um modo inédito, com conceitos de economia e árvore tecnológica, como nos games de estratégia em tempo real
